5 policemen killed in Kandahar suicide attack

KANDAHAR CITY (PAN): Nearly five policemen were killed and six others injured when a suicide attacker exploded his explosive-laden vehicle near the entrance of a police headquarters in southern Kandahar province, an official said on Thursday.

The blast occurred about 10 am at the police headquarters bordering the district of Arghistan, Javid Faisal, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

He added the headquarters building has been damaged in the blast, saying six of the injured policemen were rushed to the hospital, but he had no details about their condition.
