Arabs killed in Wardak raid

Jun 05, 2012 - 11:05

MAIDAN SHAHR (PANinfo-icon): Three Arab militants were killed during a predawn airstrike by the International Security Assistance Force (ISAFinfo-icon) in central Maidan Wardak province, officials said on Tuesday.

The air raid was conducted at 2 am in the Dandoki area on the outskirts of Syedabad district, eliminating the newly arrived Arab nationals, Shahidullah Shahid, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Dr. Fazal Karim Muslim, the district chief, confirmed the attack, saying the victims had recently sneaked into the area along with other insurgents to launch attacks against Afghan and foreign troops.

The Talibaninfo-icon are yet to comment on the incident, but their spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, claimed three policemen had been killed in a roadside bombing in the district.
