HERAT/SHIBERGHAN (PAN): Four people, including one of Uzbek warlord Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum’s guards, were killed and seven others injured in road accidents in western Herat and northern Faryab provinces, officials said on Monday.
Three people were killed and seven others wounded when two rickshaws collided in the Maslakh area on the Herat-Islam Qala highway, the governor's spokesman, Mohiuddin Noori, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
A doctor at the zonal hospital, Mohammad Rafiq Sherzai, confirmed receiving three bodies and seven injured people at the hospital. Two of the injured were in critical condition, he said, adding that all victims were male.
In another accident, Dostum’s security guard Mohammad Karim was killed in northern Jawzjan province on Sunday night, said police chief Brig. Gen. Abdul Aziz Ghairat.
Karim was on his way to the residence of the Junbish-i-Millie Party chief when his vehicle was hit by an oncoming car in Shiberghan, the provincial capital. Police have detained the car driver.
