4 students dead, 54 injured in Quetta blast
QUETTA (PAN): Four university students were killed and 54 people, mostly pupils, were wounded in a blast on Monday morning in Quetta, the capital of Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province, officials said.
The bomb hit a University of Information Technology bus that was transporting students at about 8 am, the city police chief told reporters at the scene of the attack.
He said four students were killed and 30 others injured in the blast. Several civilians and policemen in the vicinity were also wounded when the explosion ripped through the bus.
The injured were rushed to different hospitals in the city. The heavy explosion smashed window panes of nearby houses, vehicles, offices buildings and hotels, witnesses said.
Quetta police chief Mir Zubair said about 50 kilograms of explosives were used in the remote-controlled bomb.
