KANDAHAR CITY (PAN): Two people were killed and eight others injured when two passenger cars crashed on a highway in the Daman district of southern Kandahar province on Sunday, an official said.

The collision occurred on the Kandahar city-Spind Boldak highway in the Shorandam area around noon, the governor’s spokesman, Javed Faisal told Pajhwok Afghan News.

The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital. Doctors said some of the wounded were in critical condition.

Traffic officer Col. Hamdullah said the accident was due to careless driving.
