JALALABAD/CHARIKAR (PAN): A woman and a child were killed, while nine other civilians injured in two separate missile attacks in eastern Laghman and central Kapisa provinces, officials said on Sunday.
In Laghman, a woman and a child were killed, and five others injured when a rocket landed on their house in Daulat Shah district on Saturday night, said the town's administrative head.
Nasir Ahmad Himmat, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident happened at around 12 pm in Khas Daulat Shah area of the district, when rebels fired-missile landed on the school teacher Mirza’s house.
He said all the victims belonged to the same family and security forces did not suffere any casualty in the missile attack.
Public health director, Dr. Abdul Latif Qayumi, said they received five injured victims -- including four women and one woman lost her right hand in the incident.
A statement from governor's office condemned the incident and extended their condolences to the victims’ families.
Elsewhere in Kapisa, four civilians, including a woman and a child, were injured after rebels fired missiles at house in Tagab district on Saturday, said Abdul Hakim Akhunzada, the town's administrative head.
He said the injured were sent to the provincial civil hospital and were in a stable condition.
Taliban yet to comment on the incidents.
