KABUL): Two militants were killed when a bomb they were planting on a road went off in the central province of Maidan Wardak on Monday, an official said.
The explosion occurred at 11:00pm. The militants were planting the roadside bomb in the Badam area of Narkh district, the governor’s spokesman, Shahidullah Shahid, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Four others Taliban fighters, who arrived at the scene after the blast to take away the dead, were detained by Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers, he said.
Two Kalashnikovs were recovered from the detainees who had been shifted to Maidan Shahr, the provincial capital, for investigaton.
Residens had asked the authorities to hand them over the bodies, said Naqib, a resident of the area.
