Drone strike kills 21 in Waziristan
The drone attack took place on Friday night in the Datakhel area, 45 kilometres from the main town of North Waziristan, a security official said on condition of anonymity.
He said 21 people were killed in the strike but did not reveal the victims’ identities.
Malak Mumtaz, a local journalist, said CIA-operated spy plane fired two missiles on a house in the area that killed several people.
When people gathered to rescue victims from the debris, the drone fired another four more missiles, killing 20 people.
According to security officials, the dead fighters belonged to a Taliban commander Hafiz Gulbahar from the area.
