KANDAHAR CITY (PAN (RTA) was killed in a roadside bomb blast in the southern province of Helmand, an official said on Thursday.
The journalist, Abdul Hadi Hamdard, and his friend were killed and two others wounded on Wednesday evening when their vehicle struck a roadside bomb in the Awbazan area of Greshk district, the governor’s spokesman said.
Daud Ahmadi told Pajhwok Afghan News Hamdard, a resident of the district, was visiting Awbazan to meet his friends. The victim hosted literary programmes on RTA.
The injured were taken to Helmand Civil Hospital and they are reported to be in stable condition. Ahmadi accused militants of planting roadside bombs, killing civilians. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the bombing.
