2 children dead in warhead explosion

KUNDUZ CITY (PAN): Two children were killed and a third wounded during an explosion in northern Kunduz province on Monday evening, an official said.

The warhead blast happened in Nawabad village on the outskirts of Kunduz City, the provincial capital, police spokesman Syed Sarwar Hussaini told Pajhwok Afghan News.

He said the children were playing with the unexploded warhead that they had found in the area. The injured was evacuated to the Doctors Without Borders Hospital. The child is said to be in stable condition.
