GARDEZ (PAN): Four Afghan security personnel were killed and two others wounded in a roadside bombing near Gardez, the capital of southeastern Paktia province, on Saturday.
The bodies of four members of Public Order Police, who came under attack in Dawlatzai area on the outskirts of Gardez, were brought to the Paktia Civil Hospital.
Hospital Director Haya Gul Paktin told Pajhwok Afghan News the injured policemen were in stable condition.
Brig. Gen, Zalmay Oryakhel, the provincial police chief, confirmed the explosion and the casualties. He said the victims were on the way to their base.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the bombing, but the authorities often blame the Taliban for such attacks.
