GHAZNI CITY/ASADABAD (PAN): Security officials said on Monday more than a dozen insurgents were killed in southern Ghazni and 16 in eastern Kunar province over the past 24 hours.
Two rebels were killed and as many injured when the bomb they were planting on a road in the Rashidan area of Ghazni City went off accidentally on Monday morning, the Afghan spy service said.

Another three militants were killed in a NATO airstrike in Andar district. The fighters wanted to fire rockets into the district centre, when they were hit by foreign troops, the statement added.
In Kunar, 13 guerrillas were killed during an overnight NATO airstrike in Watapur district, the governor’s spokesman said. Wasifullah Wasifi added it remained unclear if the dead included any high-profile figure.
Elsewhere in the province, a group of gunmen attacked a local police post in Shankar district, sparking a battle. National army and police reached the site to assist the local police force. As a result of the clash, three attackers and an army officer were killed.
