KABUL): Militants fired three missiles into Maidan Shahr, the capital of central Maidan Wardak province, on Wednesday evening.
Governor Halim Fidae confirmed the missile strike to Pajhwok Afghan News, saying the attack caused no casualties or damage to property.
“People are preparing for Eid celebrations, but the insurgents are intent upon killing the civilians with stray missiles,” the governor said.
Fidae condemned the strike as contrary to Islamic teachings and principles of war. There was no immediate claim of responsibility.
