4 killed in second US drone attackBy Qaisar Yosufzai Aug 19, 2012 - 15:56
ISLAMABAD (PAN): At least four suspected militants were killed when a US drone targeted two vehicles in the second such attack in hours in the troubled Pakistan’s tribal region of North Waziristan near the Afghan border, officials said on Sunday.
The latest attack in the Mana area of Shawal district came hours after seven suspected militants were killed in a similar incident in the same area.
Government official Mohammad Aknar Khan told reporters that the identities of the slain people were yet to be known.
A local reporter Malak Mumtaz said a dozen spy planes continued to hover over the area as residents started celebrating Eidul Fitr two nights before.
Pakistan had strongly protested the US drone attack on Saturday morning.
It was the fourth drone attack since the start of Ramadan and the second since Pakistan’s spymaster, Lieutenant General Zaheer ul-Islam, visited Washington earlier this month.
