Ex-MP’s kin killed in Paktia blast
GARDEZ (PAN): Three relatives of a former lawmaker were killed when the vehicle they were travelling in struck a roadside bomb near the capital of southeastern Paktia province on Monday, police said.
Brother, uncle and nephew of the ex-Wolesi Jirga member, Pacha Khan Zadran, lost their lives to the blast that took place in the Hajyan area on the outskirts of Gardez, the provincial capital, police chief Brig. Gen. Zalmai Oryakhel told Pajhwok Afghan News. The victims were travelling through the village from Gardez when came under attack in the afternoon, he said.
Zadran’s brother, Mirza Ali, who was killed in the incident, had served as an adviser to the provincial governor. He had no government job for the last two years. ALi regarded one of the influential tribal elders in Paktia. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack.
