Four insurgents killed, IED cleared
KABUL (PAN): Four insurgents were killed and an improvised explosive device (IED) cleared during joint operations by Afghan and coalition forces in eastern and central Afghanistan over the past 24 hours, the Bagram-based military said on Tuesday.
One the insurgents was killed during an engagement with Afghan National Army soldiers and coalition forces in the Nari district of eastern Kunar province, the troops said in a statement.
Three insurgents were killed in a coalition airstrike in the Chak district of central Maidan Wardak province in response to Afghan National Security Forces and coalition forces receiving small arms and indirect fire.
The joint force also found and safely cleared an IED in the same area, the statement said.
