5 women crushed to death by speedy car

KUNDUZ CITY (PAN were crushed to death by a speedy car in the provincial capital of northern Kunduz province, an official said on Wednesday.

A sixth woman was wounded in the freak accident that took place in the first police district of Kunduz city. The ill-fated women were waiting for a passenger vehicle when a reckless-driven car hit them at 8am, traffic officer Abdul Karim Langari told Pajhwok Afghan News.

The injured woman, who was taken to the Doctors Without Borders-run Emergency Hospital, is said to be serious, he added.

The victims, aged between 20 and 25 years, were residents of the Aliabad district. They had come to the city for greeting relatives on Eid.

The car’s driver managed to escape, but the car had been confiscated, the traffic official said.
