Gunmen kidnap, kill 4 students in Ghor

CHAGHCHARAN (PAN province on Sunday, residents and officials said.

The schoolchildren were kidnapped on Sunday morning from the Khafak Band area of Charsada district and taken to the Qalmin area on the outskirts of Chaghcharan, a resident of the area said on condition of anonymity.

The abductors later killed four of the students and kept the six others in captivity, he said.

The victims are residents of Bardez and Korgin villages. Residents of these villages have detained four suspects in connection with the abduction.

Acting police chief Col. Murtaza Muslih confirmed the incident, but had no details.

No one has so far claimed responsibility for the kidnap and killing incident.
