6 of a family dead as vehicle plunges into river

ASADABAD (PAN): Six members of a family were killed and a baby went missing after a vehicle fell into a river in the Khas Kunar district of eastern Kunar province, officials said on Friday.

The accident took place in the Spin Jumat area on the Kunar-Jalalabad highway lat on Thursday, police spokesman, Lt. Sher Wali, told Pajhwok Afghan News. An injured woman was evacuated to a health facility in Jalalabad.

Mohammad Rahman, the administrative head of the district, blamed the accident on reckless driving.
