KABUL in the near future to have result-oriented talks on taking forward the peace drive, Foreign Minister Zalmai Rassoul said on Saturday.
A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs quoted Rassoul as telling an annual meeting on cooperation among member states of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
Rassoul said the success of the Afghan-led reconciliation programme held the key to the success of security transition and implementation of the commitments held out at the Tokyo Conference.
The foreign minister urged Muslim countries to help the Afghans bring lasting peace to their country. “On wrapping up his visit to Saudi Arabia, Salahuddin Rabbani will be heading a high-level delegation to hold result-oriented talks with Pakistani officials.”
