CHARIKAR): A power project, involving the installation of five transformers, has been executed in the central province of Parwan, officials said on Sunday. Some 3,000 families will benefit from the scheme.
Funded by the US Provincial Reconstruction), the project supplied power to five villages of Chikal valley on the outskirts of Charikar, said the Breshna Shirkat director, Ghulam Haidar.
A resident of the area, Shamsul Hadi, said well-off people previously used solar energy and the rest relied on liquefied gas for lighting their houses.
