Khairullah, a resident of the Qarayi area of Almar, told Pajhwok Afghan News the dead included one of his guards. He was slightly wounded, but his gunmen had to be evacuated to a district hospital.
Elsewhere in the province, four workers of the Coordination of Humanitarian Assistance (CHA) were wounded during an attack in Kohistan district.
Hayatullah Bakhtari, the NGO provincial chief, said unidentified gunmen stormed CHA office and fired at the workers late Thursday night, injuring four of them.
