MAZAR-I-SHARIF (PAN): Unidentified gunmen shot dead three members of a family and buried them in a house in northern Balkh province, police said on Thursday.

“They were killed on Wednesday night after a resident of Khulam district invited a man, his wife and son for dinner at his house,” the deputy police chief Abdul Razaq told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Neighbours found the dead bodies in the house and informed the police, he said, adding that the killings occurred due to prior enmity between the families.

“The people disappeared after the dinner invitation, so their relatives informed the police. The families had an old grudge,” said a local resident Hazrat Mohammad.

The attackers buried the dead bodies inside the house and managed to flee the crime scene, he added.
