Having air support from the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), police launched the operation in Dawang area on Wednesday morning, the district police chief, Wali Dad, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

The insurgents were flushed out of the area they previously controlled, the police official said.  He gave no further details of the operation, in which at least one policeman was wounded.
