KABUL): Three people were killed and three others arrested during separate incidents of violence in different provinces of the country, officials said on Monday.
A schoolteacher and a peon were shot dead by armed rebels in the Muhammad Aga district of central Logar province, the town’s administrative head, Haji Abdul Hameed Hamid, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said the shooting took place at around 9:30am when several the fighters entered a private school.
In Ghazni, a moneychanger, Nasir Karbalaee, was gunned down by a gunman in the provincial capital, said the police chief, Brig. Gen. Zarawar Zahid. The killer was arrested by police.
In western Herat province, three people, including two in women’s clothes, were detained before they could attack workshop in the King Amanullah Hall, deputy police chief, Col. Abdul Hamid Hamidi, told a news conference.
Independent Directorate of Security (IDLOG) head, Abdul Khaliq Farahi, Governor Daud Shah Saba and other officials attended the workshop, aimed at promoting good governance.
Elsewhere in Herat, a doctor was injured in a remote-controlled bomb blast in the Islam Qala port on Monday, the governor’s spokesman, Mohiuddin Noori said.
