Kabul police chief Mohammad Ayub Salangi told Pajhwok Afghan News.two security guards for a nearby foreign military compound were killed and one injured in the ensuing explosion.
As well, two passers-by and two employees of the Ministry of Defence driving by the scene at the time of the blast at 8:20am were injured, Ayubi added.
The two bombers' intended target was not immediately known but Salangi said Afghanistan’s chief justice and deputy minister of defense live in the street and that several foreign civilian and military compounds are located nearby.
As usual, the Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, saying the bombers targeted the local office of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
