Rabbani to meet Clinton on Thursday
WASHINGTON (PAN): The Afghan High Peace Council Chairman Salahuddin Rabbani met the outgoing US special envoy for Afghanistan and Pakistan Marc Grossman on Wednesday to discuss the ongoing peace process.
On Thursday, Rabbani will “meet briefly” the Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and her deputy Thomas R Nides.
“The United States continues to agree with Afghan leaders that a peace process is critical to our shared goal of a more stable and secure Afghanistan,” Grossman said in a statement after meeting Rabbani.
Welcoming Rabbani to the State Department, Grossman lauded his relentless dedication to move the much-needed peace initiative.
They also discussed efforts to advance an Afghan-led peace process.
