TIRINKOT (PAN militants in Charchino district in central Uruzgan province on Friday morning, according to authorities.
Charchino police chief Walidad told Pajhwok Afghan News that a clash took place in Dawan area in the district around 4 am, when militants stormed a police check post.
In a counter attack security forces shot dead the militants and injured four others.
No government forces were injured in the incident, he added.
