Ulema meet to be held in Kabul in January 2013

ISLAMABAD (PANinfo-icon): Afghanistaninfo-icon and Pakistaninfo-icon on Friday decided that the international ulemainfo-icon conference would held in central capital Kabulinfo-icon in January 2013.

The announcement was made at a joint press conference that was addressed by Afghan Foreign Affairs Minister Zalmai Rassoul and his Pakistani counterpart Hina Rabani Khar in Islamabad on Friday.

During a joint declaration issued on the sidelines of the Afghanistan’s High Peace Councilinfo-icon delegation’s visit to Pakistan recently, both sides had decided to organize an international ulema conference.

Religious scholars from Afghanistan, Pakistan and other Islamic countries would attend the conference that would debate on current issues such as religious extremism and suicide bombings.

Khar said Pakistan would strongly support the international conference.
