KABUL) chief Asadullah Khalid who was injured in a suicide attack on Thursday was shifted to a United States-managed military hospital in Bagram for further treatment.

A family member told Pajhwok Afghan News that the wounded intelligence chief was transferred to Bagram and undergoing medical treatment. Bagram, located about 60 kilometres away from Kabul, is a major US military base.

Khalid was wounded in a suicide bombing at a NDS guesthouse in Kabul on Thursday afternoon, when a man posing as a Taliban peace messenger approached him and detonated the hidden explosives.

According to officials, Khalid’s condition is stable now.

Yesterday, President Hamid Karzai and several top Afghan officials visited Khalid at the NDS hospital where he was admitted immediately after the assassination attempt on his life.

Taliban has claimed responsibility for the suicide attack.
