KABUL): Afghan intelligence chief Asadullah Khalid is recovering at a Bagram Airbase hospital following a suicide attack on Thursday, the National Directorate of Security said Saturday.
Khalid, who was wounded in a suicide attack on his guesthosue in the Taimani neighborhood of Kabul, was flown to a health hospital in Kabul.
International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) Commander Gen. John Allen, visited Khalid at Bagram on Friday, according to an ISAF statement.
NDS said the suicide bomber trumped all moral and religious values by hiding explosives inside his underwear.
Meanwhile, President Hamid Karzai, appointed a team led by the Interior Minister Mujtaba Patang to investigate the incident and submit a report within a week.
