KHOST CITY (PAN): Two civilians were killed and nine others, including Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers, were wounded when a military vehicle struck a roadside bomb in the Bak district of southeastern Khost province on Saturday, an official said.

The incident took place at 11 am when an ANA vehicle on patrol hit a roadside bomb near a mosque, the governor’s spokesman Baryalai Rawan told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Two civilians were killed and nine other people, including four ANA soldiers, wounded in the blast, he said, adding the injured were evacuated to ANA health facility. They were in a stable condition, he added.

Taliban Spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said six Afghan soldiers were killed and many others wounded in the explosion.

In another incident, Taliban attacked a convoy of foreign forces, killing or wounding many foreign troops in the province, Mujahid claimed.
