PUL-E-ALAM (PAN): Prince Mirwais Zahir on Sunday revealed that thousands of acres of their family land had been seized by local mafias in central Logar province.

Zahir, son of the late King Zahir Shah, while addressing a meeting attended by the governor of Logar, Iqbal Azizi and Mohammad Hassan Elahi the Urban Development Minister and local elders, said he has documents to prove that 6, 500 acres of land grabbed illegally.

He urged the local government to assist him to reclaim the land.

The prince donated one acre of land in Logar to homeless people and called on the ministry to build houses for the underprivileged community.

The governor thanked Zahir for his generosity and said the local government would assist him to reclaim the lost land.
The governor also said certain groups had seized government’s plots.

“We are working on a plan with the agriculture department to obtain all government land that was taken unlawfully,” said Azizi.

Elahi was also pleased with Zahir’s contribution and promised the ministry would design a township soon and award plots for the homeless.

For Logar, we have two more developmental projects that includes 5, 000 residential plots, he added.
