Pakistani forces accused of attacking Afghan security posts
JALALABAD (PAN): Pakistani soldiers, backed by the Taliban militants, attacked border security posts in the remote eastern province of Nuristan, the police chief said on Tuesday.
Brig. Gen. Ghulamullah Nuristani told Pajhwok Afghan News Pakistani forces had been staging hit-and-run attacks on checkpoints in the Do Aab district since Friday.
In retaliatory action from Afghan security personnel, three Taliban were killed and several others wounded, according to the police chief, accusing Pakistani soldiers of backing the insurgents.
A Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, confirmed the clashes and claimed the militants had a captured a security post in Sangpul area, seizing weapons from the guards.
