Ludin, Sadiq meet on cross-border incursions
KABUL (PAN): Deputy Foreign Minister Javed Ludin on Wednesday discussed the issue of rocket strikes into eastern Kunar province with Pakistan Ambassador to Afghanistan Mohammad Sadiq.
Ludin expressed the Afghan government’s serious concern over recent cross-border incursions into Kunar, where four people including a woman were killed and six others wounded, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
Such attacks could have a negative impact on relations between the neighbours, a statement from the ministry said. Ludin underlined the need for bilateral cooperation on issues, including peace, security and trade.
Both sides agreed to arrange a meeting of high-level military officials in Jalalabad to discuss the attacks, increased security cooperation along the Durand Line and ways of preventing attacks on Afghan villages, the statement concluded.
