KABUL): President Hamid Karzai and French Defence and Veterans Affairs Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian on Monday discussed bilateral cooperation and peace efforts during a meeting in Kabul, the Karzai office said on Monday.
The two leaders conferred on France assistances with Afghanistan beyond 2014, the president’s office said in a statement.
Before his meeting with Karzai, Drian visited troops from his country and greeted them on celebrating Chrismas and the new year, the statement said.
At the meeting, Karzai thanked the French minister for his country’s assistance with Afghanistan over the past years.
