Girl’s body found in Jalalabad
JALALABAD (PAN): The body of a girl, who was kidnapped two months back, was found in Jalalabad, the capital of eastern Nangarhar province, on Monday, officials and residents said.
Strangulated to death, the victim was a resident of Majboorabad area and her father and uncle had been arrested in connection with the murder, said the deputy police chief, Masoom Khan.
The body of the burqa-clad girl was dumped on a road in the Majboorabad area of the fourth police district. Sabawoon Ilham, a local resident, told Pajhwok Afghan News, he saw the corpse on his way to the mosque for morning prayers.
Other people also came to the site and informed police about the discovery of the corpse, he said.
Noor Mohammad, another local, said no one could was able to ascertain her identity, with many believing the victim had been brought there from some other area. Subsequently, the body was taken to hospital.
