SHARANA (PAN-backed Local Police Force (LPF) was raised and deputed to keep guard and watch over militant activity in several towns, the governor said on Thursday.
“LPF members are local residents and they have local support. There has been a visible improvement in security situation in various districts, where the force has been brought into being,” Mohibullah Samim told a press conference in Sharana, the provincial capital.
The governor said two districts —Yehyakhel and Khairkot — were once the most troubled areas due to insurgent activities, but now the atmosphere there had widely changed.
