2 killed, as many hurt in Shindand blast
The victims were sorting scrap metal when a shell exploded, killing the man along with his brother and injuring his wife and sister-in-law, the Shindand district police chief said.
Col. Ghulam Sakhi Hussaini told Pajhwok Afghan News the injured were taken to a district hospital and their condition was stated to be stable.
But civil order police spokesman, Jan Ali Sultani, said the incident took place at 10pm when Mir Hamza, one of the victims, was making an improvised explosive device (IED) in his house.
