3 Parwan children killed in warhead blastBy Farid Tanha Jan 26, 2013 - 19:05
Aged between 11 and 17 years, the boys were grazing cattle when 'the Soviet-era' warhead exploded, the district chief, Saifudin Bidar, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The victims, residents of Dunday Paiyeen and Dundar Bali areas, were playing with the device after mistaking it for a toy, he said.
But tribal elder Shah Mahmud accused US troops of throwing the bomb in the area three months back, rejecting Bidar's claim as false that it was a Soviet-era warhead.
Three of the four injured children were rushed to the civil hospital in Charikar for being critical, he said.
