Hotak pulls out 9-wicket win against Afridi-led side
KABUL (PAN): Afghanistan-A handed a 9-wicket defeat to a Shahid Afridi-captained Karachi-Hyderabad-XI in a one-day match in Hyderabad, the second largest city in Pakistan's southern Sindh province, on Wednesday, thanks to left-arm spinner Hamza Hotak's five-wicket haul.
Afridi won the toss and chose to bat in the 50-overs game at the Niaz Stadium, seeing his side collapsed in the 36th over for 112 runs, Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB)spokesman Farid Hotak told Pajhwok Afghan News.
In response, opener Mohammad Shehzad made 58 off 35 balls hitting eight boundaries and two sixes and Karim Sadiq slammed an unbeaten 36 in 62 deliveries, leading his side to chase the winning target in the 19th over.
