KUNDUZ CITY (PAN): A remotely-controlled bomb was exploded outside the governor’s house in northern Kunduz province, but no one was hurt, officials said.

The bomb was placed 200-metre away from the residence of Governor Mohammad Anwar Jagdalak in Kunduz city, the provincial capital, his spokesman, Anayatullah Khaleep, told Pajhwok Afghan News. It went off at 10:30am, he said, adding the target remained known. Police had launched their investigation into the incident, the gubernatorial spokesman said.

But the principal of a girls’ high school, Shamim Seyal, said the blast in front her school came when the deputy governor was passing through the area.

Having no information about any possible casualties, she said security personnel cordoned off the site soon after the explosion.
