TIRINKOT (PAN): A district chief was injured along with three of his bodyguards in a roadside bombing in the central province of Uruzgan, an official said on Thursday.

The blast ripped through the vehicle carrying Abdullah, the Gizab administrative chief, in the Khalj area of the district late on Wednesday, Uruzgan police spokesman, Farid Ayel, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Abdullah and three police guards were wounded in the blast that came amid an ongoing security operation in the area. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital, Ayel said, adding they were in a stable condition.
