MEHMOOD RAQI (PAN): Eight Taliban fighters were killed during a night-time Afghan-US military operation in the Tagab district of central Kapisa province, an official said on Monday.
The operation that began around 11pm involved Afghan National Army (ANA) and US Special Force personnel, the town's police chief Col. Mohammad Nawroz told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The dead included two foreigners, but their identities remained unknown, he said, adding the armed rebels were killed in Nawrozkhel, Janglyan and Pashkali villages during the offensive that continued until 10am on Monday. The dead bodies, including those of two foreigners, sill laid in the areas, he said.
