KABUL.

The satellite launch had been approved by the Cabinet and proposals from three companies were being considered for executing the project, Minister of Telecommunications Eng. Amirzai Sangin said.

Speaking at an annual conference of ministry directors, Sangin said the project would be implanted at a cost of more than $250 million, to be provided by the Afghan government.

“We have decided to launch a communications satellite to resolve problems of residents of remote areas and improve the quality of radio stations and TV channels,” he added.
