KABUL): Forty-three Afghan children with burn injuries and bone cracks returned home on Sunday from six months of treatment Germany, an official said.

The children under 11 years of age were treated with the cooperation of the Afghan Red Crescent Society (ARCS) and German Peace Village, an ARCS official said.

Inayatullah Siddiqui told Pajhwok Afghan News that the ARCS and the German Peace Village paid more than 15,000 euros for the medical care of each of the children, who came from different provinces of the country.

Shohaila, 10, a resident of Kabul, was happy with the treatment of her broken foot. She was thrice flown to Germany.

“I spent a lot of money on my treatment in Afghanistan, but there was not result. But after my visit to Germany, I feel better,” she added.

Each of the children was given 40 euros, a pair of socks, shoes and medicine for six to 12 months, Siddiqui said.
