HERAT CITY/PUL-I-ALAM (PAN commander, were killed during operations in different districts of Logar, Herat and Badghis provinces, officials said on Wednesday.
Two rebels were killed and three others wounded in operations conducted by Afghan National Army (ANA) and police in the Maqur district of Badghis, the governor’s spokesman, Sharafuddin Majidi, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
A dozen militants were killed and seven others wounded during operations in Kashk Kohna, Rabat Sangi and Shindand districts of Herat, said Col. Najibullah Najibi, a spokesman for the Zafar Military Corps. Security forces seized two vehicles, five motorcycles and a large quantity of ammunition.
In a separate incident, a Haqqani network militant commander was killed along with two of his associates by Afghan forces and foreign troops in the Qala Naw area of Charkh district in Logar, he said. Eleven weapons, 10 IEDs and ammunition were seized by security forces.
