TIRINKOT (PAN): The foundation stone of a building for the Charchino district headquarters was laid in the central province of Uruzgan, officials said on Thursday.
Governor Amir Mohammad Akhundzada, lawmaker Obaidullah Barakzai, local officials and tribal elders participated in Wednesday’s ceremony.
Governor Akhundzada told Pajhwok Afghan News the double-storey building would be constructed on 2.5 acres of land at a total cost of 16 million afghanis.
Previously, district employees would work in rented houses and a religious seminary, but the building would provide the space facility for them as well as visitors, he added.
The district chief, Haji Ghulam Haidar Khan, was happy with the launch of the project, saying their problems would be resolved with the construction of the building.
