KABUL): A militant improvised explosive device (IED) expert has been killed during a security operation in the Chahar Dara district of northern Kunduz province, the International Security Assistance Force said on Friday.

The Taliban member, identified as Zakaria, was blamed for attacks against Afghan and coalition forces, according to a statement from the alliance that said the security force killed the insurgent in a precision strike.

The multinational force confirmed the death of a Taliban leader, Habib, during an operation in central Logar province. Habib was allegedly responsible for weapons facilitation in Charkh district.
