HERAT CITY (PAN): Two civilians and a policeman were killed and three of his colleagues wounded in a roadside bombing in central Uruzgan and western Herat provinces, officials said on Saturday.
A civilian vehicle struck a roadside bomb in Herat City late on Friday night, Col. Abdul Rauf Ahmadi, the western zone police spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News. He blamed militants for planting the bomb.
In the Charchino district of Uruzgan, one policeman was killed and three others were wounded when their patrol vehicle struck a roadside bomb, said the deputy police chief, Col. Mohammad Aslam.
The injured were evacuated with the help of ISAF troops to Tirinkot Civil Hospital, whose Director Dr. Izzatullah confirmed receiving the wounded policemen. He said they were in stable condition.
